Fat burners are not scary

Just as a word of caution
These blogs are my opinions, and if you consider taking any products mentioned, please consult a doctor if you suffer from any health conditions or are taking any prescription medications.

Earlier this week a television celebrity discussed a seaweed that can help boost the metabolism, so my store has been flooded with requests for this ingredient.  As people come and make the request, I explain the results people experience with the product and the disappointment they have suffered from it.
Being the great guy I am, I help them select a metabolism booster that best suits their needs that has proven results.

Today I had a woman walk in and explain she didn't want anything other than this seaweed that was mentioned on television, she did not want any fat burners because they were loaded with chemicals that would get her heart racing and had the potential to kill her.  As she talked more, she decided to settle for something that was very harmful on the body and that was a LAXATIVE....I explained laxatives for weight loss are more harmful than any fat burners you find in the shelves of your local health food store.  Needless to say she did walk out with a fat burner and not a laxative...the sale was made and I hope her confusion was put to rest.

This brought me to today's blog topic....Fat burners and their myths.

There are so many myths about fat burners I'm here to keep you sane as you pick one off the shelf at the local supplement shop.
1. I will gain all the weight back once I get off the fat burner?
No, the weight never comes back onto your body unless you allow it to.  When people start a healthy weight loss program they do everything right, proper eating, exercise and take all the right supplements.  The issue comes when normal human laziness sets in.  Slowly but surely people get comfortable with looking great and think they can get away with a missed workouts and bad eating.  The more this happiness the faster the weight comes back on their lean bodies, people get discouraged and quit doing everything from eating right, exercising and supplements.  This is where people put the blame on fat burners instead of their unhealthy laziness.  It's a classic case of "Put the blame on the bad guy".

2.  I tried all the fat burners, and nothing works!

Sorry folks, fat burners don't do the work, you must do the work.  The fat burner simply assists you weight loss.  If you do everything properly you will average half a pound to two pounds per week in weight loss.  The metabolism booster (fat burner) help you reach the higher side of that average.

3.  Will this fat burner give me the shakes?

The first question I ask is- Do you drink coffee?  If the answer is "yes" then you can handle fat burners.  The days of ephedrine (the stuff that gives the shakes) are gone.  They are no longer in the legal fat burners you find on the shelves.  Sure some fat burners give you more energy than others but they are not as intense as one may think.  Start with half the dosage and work your way up to full dose.  It's like going to Starbucks, you don't start out with the double espresso if your a tea drinker, it will drive you into caffeine over load :-)

4.  Will it kill me?

Again, the days of those old school, chemical based burners are long gone.  The days of high amounts of ephedrine are long gone too.  The horror stories have been blown out of proportion from urban legends and the media.  Did people die?  Yes, but it came from taking excess amount of ephedrine under some harsh conditions.  Take according to the directions and you will be just fine.

5.  Hydroxcut?

Many years ago, Hydroxcut was the top selling fat burner on the market.  It worked so well, it was unreal.  But then new laws came in protecting the consumers from overdosing on the "good stuff". Hydroxycut has been reformulated so many times it lacks the luster it once had.
Marketing plays a huge role in the weight loss industry, just because a fat burner is advertised and extremely high priced does not mean it's the big boy on the block.
Some awesome metabolism boosters on the market today are SHAPE UP REDUCE and THERMO-LEAN.  They work very well, and don't spend huge budgets on advertising.

6.  What if it doesn't work?  Can I return it?

Fat burners only work if you work with it.  Simply put, you need to work hard for weight loss and the burners simply make it a little easier for the fat to melt off your body.

I hope this makes buying a FAT BURNER a little easier for you.  There is no need to fear these herbal pills, they help you attain a better body and give you a little energy too.  When you walk into your supplement shop ask the person working which suits your needs the best.  Some are designed for low weight loss, high weight loss, stress control and even simply to burn off belly fat.  My suggestions are check out SHAPE UP REDUCE or THERMO-LEAN, I get great feedback and they are sold at a great price.

Stay motivated
