10 GUIDELINES IN THE HEALTH FOOD STORE

10 GUIDELINES IN THE HEALTH FOOD STORE

Have you ever walked into a health food store and felt your questions just weren’t getting answered to your liking?  Here's a thought, maybe it’s the types of questions you are asking.  As a salesperson in my industry we are a little restricted as to some of the questions and answers we can talk to you about.  Basically we need to watch we don't give you the customer any misleading information so we must be extremely cautious.

Today, I want to inform you of ten key points that a reliable health food store consultant should be following. If anyone goes beyond these points it may be a red flag to start to deal with another consultant because they may give you some risky information.

THE GUIDELINES

1. We do not have the authority to diagnose your ailment. Please refer with a doctor or naturopath for a proper diagnosis.
2.  We cannot agree with any diagnosis that any professional has given you.  We can show you natural supplements that have been shown to help with the diagnosis.
3.  We cannot assign a CAUSE to your diagnosis.  We can attribute possible causes that lead up to certain conditions.
4.  We cannot penetrate tissue, use radiation or recommend any prescription drugs.
5.  We cannot collect any specimens from the human body.
6. We cannot claim that something is a cure or the treatment in the case of a disease.
7.   We cannot tell you to leave your doctor or stop using your prescription medication.
8.  We cannot call ourselves “Doctors” or refer to clients as “patients”
9.  If you have any condition we need to refer you to a professional such as a doctor or naturopath.
10.  We can provide you with educational advice.

These are just some guidelines we must follow working in a health food store.  As a customer you can ask us many questions yet we are not always able to answer you in the way you feel fit.  This is the reason why sometimes you may feel we are not being helpful.  There is only so much we are able to do and say to you the client.
My best advice to you is to find out why you are feeling a little under the weather by investing in seeing a naturopath and take their recommendations by using some quality supplements found in high end health food stores.

Stay healthy and stay motivated
